I'm very fortunate in that I can always turn to my wife when I need a boost. She's been with me through my recovery and been an enormous help every step of the way.

When your BPD is at its worst and you need help, who is it you turn to?

I don't have anyone right now. Most of my friendships have ended or we've drifted apart with age. There are a couple of members of family I still talk to but not about deep, important stuff like mental health. I'm single too and that shows no signs of changing any time soon. It's tough. I try to use online communities like this one but most aren't very active.

I'm currently in therapy and I see my therapist once a week which helps. It's DBT though so it's more worksheet orientated than talk therapy. I know talk therapy isn't supposed to be as helpful to people with BPD but I think it might do me some good once in awhile.

Other than that I have a couple of close friends I can talk to about this type of stuff. I don't like to burden them too much with it though.

I'm also online quite a bit on the BPD subreddit. More of a lurker than a poster but reading other people's problems does make me realize I'm not going through this alone.
