The forums at BPD-Aware.com are intended to encourage discussion of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and build a supportive community. However, users that we deem to be using these forums in bad faith may be warned or even banned.
We are aware that mistakes are made and won't, for example, warn or ban someone for posting the same topic twice in quick succession when this is likely in error rather than an attempt to spam.
Administrators have the final say in modifying, interpreting, and enforcing the following rules.
Subjects covered at BPD-Aware
Topics posted in these forums must be relevant to the forum they are posted in. If you have BPD and wish to discuss your experience then the BPD forum is probably where you want to be posting. If you have a loved one with BPD and you want to discuss this, then the BPD Allies forum is the place for you. We have tried to make our forums as clear as possible to make discussions and information as easy to find as possible. We are open to suggestions on new forums that may be required as the site grows.
Sensitive information
Don't post sensitive information that makes you identifiable. Moderators will remove personal information from posts to protect your privacy. We recommend using a username which isn't linked to your real name so that you may remain anonymous.
Self-Promotion
We don't allow blatant self-promotion of other websites, therapy practices, books or other such business at this time. We may be open to promoting these things with you but please first discuss this with an administrator.
Do not promote self-harm or dangerous practices
While self-harm, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts and more may be discussed on these forums, we will not accept posts or replies encouraging these behaviors.
Spam
Users who post forum spam will have their posts removed. If a post that is otherwise appropriate includes links considered spam, those links will be removed.
Do not excessively "bump" a thread (post simply to get a thread to the top of the list).
Links
Link to content rather than posting it in its entirety, unless you are the copyright holder or have permission from the copyright holder.
Language and conduct
Please keep language as clean as possible. We appreciate this is difficult when dealing with emotional and difficult subjects.
Do not harass, insult, taunt, provoke, demean, or personally attack other forum members. Be friendly even if others are not.
